posted about 1 year ago

Intel Teach sponsored the participation of three Master Trainers from the Philippines to the Senior Trainers Conference held on December 14 to 19, 2008 at the Grand Kemang Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Shirley L. Ayao-ao of Saint Louis University, Eddelyn D. Gupeteo of Ateneo de Davao University, and Roberto R. Binag of Davao City National High School participated in the forum-cum-training organized by Intel Education Asia to provide updates on the Intel Teach curriculum. The six-day conference introduced participants to the latest version of the Intel Teach Essentials Course which consisted of eight modules focusing on the integration of Web 2.0 tools in teaching and learning. It should be noted that the Philippine Senior Trainers, with their background on the earlier version of the Essentials Course, were fielded as co-facilitators for the training component led by Ms. Ratan Salem, Senior Trainer for Intel Asia.

The conference also served as a venue for the sharing of best practices across the region. Ms. Gupeteo shares, “The fact that we were able to share something to the Indonesian team regarding how we conquer challenges in [implementing] our unit plans, [as well as] in training other teachers, made me feel good. Intel has been very supportive in all our endeavors pertaining to education, updating our knowledge and skills and building an environment of sharing and helping one another to create a change that will last a lifetime.”
