posted about 1 year ago

Last February 6 to 11, 2009, selected Intel Teach Faculty-Master Trainers (MTs) and administrators participated in the back-to-back 2009 Faculty Enhancement Workshop and National Pre-service Conference organized by ITPI, in cooperation with FIT-ED and UP-NISMED.

Thirty-five Intel Teach Faculty-MTs from across the country participated in the Faculty Enhancement Workshop on Essentials Course Version 10.1 from February 6 to 7, 2009 at the University of San Carlos-Talamban in Cebu City. The two-day enhancement workshop engaged participants in several hands-on activities on the use of online resources on digital literacy, designing and assessing projects, and new communication and social networking tools.

Senior Trainers Amelia T. Buan of MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology, Candelaria D. Garo of Mariano Marcos State University, Shirley L. Ayao-ao of Saint Louis University and Eddelyn D. Gupeteo of Ateneo de Davao University delivered the training in order to share their learnings from ST Trainings in Malaysia and Indonesia.

On February 8, participants from the enhancement workshop proceeded to Bohol Province to attend the National Intel Teach Pre-service Conference, along with more deans and faculty from 31 TEIs. The conference ran from February 8 to 11, 2009 at the Bohol Plaza Resort in Panglao Island, Bohol. A total of 90 participants, including guests and organizers attended the four-day conference, which carried the theme, “Are we preparing tomorrow’s teachers to teach with technology? – the capacity building challenge.”
